What's the difference between Standard and Premium Editing services?+
The Standard Editing Service includes: correcting spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors; checking for problems in parallelism, tense and conjugations; eliminating improper language and poor word choice; reviewing the use of terminology within the document; conforming to the author’s choice of American or British.
The Premium Editing Service covers all aspects of Standard Editing and also includes: revising wordy or awkward constructions; improving transitions and flow; ensuring that the manuscript maintains a consistent style. Premium Editing also comes with an editing summary that outlines the changes made to the document.
Both services provide an ACS Authoring Services Certificate, which proves that your paper has been edited by professional editors.

Will you help me re-edit my paper?+
We guarantee that our editing service will improve the quality of the language in your manuscript. If your paper is rejected by your journal for English language errors after using our service, we will re-edit your document for free. Please note that if you modify on our delivered paper before submission, this guarantee will no longer apply. We recommend that you submit the FINAL draft of your paper to us for editing. We will provide a Word document showing tracked changes and containing comments from your Editors.
Do you guarantee that my paper will get published?+
Publication decisions rest solely with journal offices. We cannot guarantee publication after using our services. However, we will re-edit your paper for free if it is rejected by a journal due to poor language quality.
What should I do if my paper is rejected by a journal due to poor language after using your editing service?+
Please e-mail us the version of your paper that you submitted to the journal along with the letter from editor with all reviewer comments. We will immediately review your files and work with you to resolve the issue. Please note that our guarantee does not apply if you have modified the delivered document.
What is the ACS Authoring Services Certificate?+

What is the difference between Formatting and Editing?+
English language editing services correct the grammar, phrasing, and word choice errors in your manuscript. Our academic formatting specialists do not perform language editing, but rather ensure that your manuscript meets journal author guidelines covering aspects such as layout, citations, and references.
What if my references are in the wrong order? My citations use numbers (e.g., 1) but the journal’s citations use names (e.g., (Author, 2011)). Will you fix this?+
Yes. We will reorder your citations and references as needed and convert citations and references to your target journal’s format. If necessary, we will fix incorrect information in references based on information in published databases.
My manuscript contains tables that require formatting. Do I need to order the Artwork Editing Service?+
Our Formatting Service includes formatting tables. However, any modification of artwork/images/graphs will require the Artwork Editing service.
Do you check to ensure that ethical or policy considerations are met?+
No, our Formatting service does not include checking for ethical or policy considerations or any documentation required for clinical trials. We focus on the formatting of the manuscript itself, which includes layout, citation, and reference formatting in accordance with journal guidelines.
If I order Formatting, will you help me reduce word count?+
No, word count reduction is not included in our Formatting service.
Will you format my manuscript if it is not written in English?+
No, we only offer formatting for manuscripts written in English. However, you can add Formatting as a complement to our Translation Services.
Can you format equations in my manuscript?+
No, unfortunately we cannot format equations at this time.
Why does my formatted manuscript look different from papers published in my target journal?+
We format manuscripts according to the journal’s guidelines for submission. Once a paper is accepted, the journal may perform copyediting and typesetting of the formatted paper to get it ready for publication, resulting in a different appearance for published articles

How will you format images such as photographs and micrographs?+
To generate publication-quality figures, images that are included within a figure should also be sent separately in the highest available resolution file. For ethical reasons, we are unable to make changes to brightness, contrast, or color balance, and we will not crop the image.
My manuscript contains tables that require formatting. Is table formatting included in Artwork Editing?+
No, our Artwork Editing service will only format figures and illustrations. You may select our Formatting service to format the tables according to the requirements of your target journal.
How can I review my formatted figures when they are returned in a new file type not supported by my computer software?+
Many journals require figures to be submitted as EPS files, which may not open with your current software. In addition to the submission-ready file, we will also send TIFF or PDF versions of your new figures for you to review.
What do you do whenever figure files for submission need to be formatted differently than the final figures for publication (after acceptance)?+
We format the figures according to the author instructions for the final publication (assuming that these instructions are available). Any new figures or ones that require changes or reformatting after peer review are considered new submissions and must be purchased separately.
How do I edit my figure after it has been formatted?+
You will need to have access to the appropriate software to make changes to your figures in their new file format. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you send the FINAL version of your figures to us for formatting. We stand behind the quality of our work, and if a figure does not meet your expectations, we will work with you to correct the issue.

We recommend that you request these services once you have received preliminary acceptance and your manuscript is in production with the journal. By starting the process then, your promotional materials will be ready by the time of publication.
What information do I need to provide to purchase Promotional Services?+
You will need to provide your final manuscript, with all the figures and tables, and share the name of your target journal. Please tell us if you have certain promotional platforms or target audiences in mind. Additionally, any input on the theme, color schemes, and other design aspects will help us customize the output to your preferences.
Can I get my promotional material translated?+
We can provide translation support at an additional fee based on the specifics of your order. Please specify your needs for translation on the inquiry form.
Will I hold the copyright for all delivered materials?+
We will transfer all copyrights to you upon delivery. If there is any copyrighted element that we have purchased for use in the video or graphics, we will also provide this information to you in the report so that you can include appropriate citations in future use. You may use the materials as you wish; however, we would suggest that you ensure that you retain copyright when you post the materials and avoid handing over rights to third parties.
Can I edit the delivered infographic/poster?+
You will need to have access to the appropriate software to make any updates to a delivered infographic or poster. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you send the FINAL version of your manuscript for us to produce promotional materials. We stand behind the quality of our work, and if a design does not meet your expectations, we will work with you to correct the issue.

What do we need from you when you order a graphical abstract?+
We need a copy of your final manuscript, with all the figures and tables, and the name of your target journal. If you have an idea of the type of graphical abstract you would like, you may also submit a rough sketch or draft as a reference. Additionally, if you have any preference for the visual presentation (such as style, color scheme, the proportion of visuals and text, etc.), please include these details when ordering the Graphical Abstract service.
Will I have the copyright of the graphical abstract? Can I use this for other purposes, such as publishing it on my social media feeds?+
We will transfer all copyrights to you upon delivery. If there is any copyrighted element that we have purchased for use in the graphical abstract, we will also provide this information to you in the report. You may use the materials as you wish; however, we would suggest that you ensure that you retain copyright when you post the materials where possible.
Can I edit the delivered graphical abstract?+
You will need to have access to the appropriate software to edit the delivered graphical abstract. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you send the FINAL version of your manuscript and give us timely feedback during the production of your graphical abstract.
